Crash and Burn

Olivia would like you to see our last expedition over to campus on the bicycle. It started out happily enough, with the bike basket filled to overflowing with dandelions and smiles all around.
I wanted to video her favorite part of the campus ride. There is a little hill and a bridge, and she zooms down it, screaming in delight (I promise it is delight) over and over again whenever we ride over. Of course, the one time I am there with a camera to capture her enthusiasm, this is what happens.
She was fine, for the most part. You could see how she landed, facefirst, in the grass, but her only injury was a small fat lip.

Ouch!! That is one of those things you never expect to catch on camera. I'm sure she will think it is really funny eventually.

Great camera work, emilee. I'm glad she is okay. I am sure one day she will think it is a funny video!

I must say that I am especially proud that in the last millisecond the camera movements show that I was actually running to help her. Pretty quick reflexes, especially for me.

Oh Livi! I can't even show this to Libby, she would be way too worried. I'm glad you were so brave!

I am glad she is not hurt too bad because the video was really funny. Ben and I both laughed, a perfect stunt to catch on camera!

Em, I came to visit your blog via maggie's. I don't mean to be cruel but I laughed out loud when I saw this video. I am glad to hear she is o.k. I need to work on my quick motherly reflexes.

Oh, poor girl. Glad to hear there was no permanent damage! I can't believe what a great bike rider she is - way to go Livi!

Once I plucked Austin off his scooter as he was uncontrollably racing down a hill, which I considered to be somewhat miraculous since my motherly reflex is usually to laugh. I just planted my feet firmly and yanked him free as he raced by!

I am sure when Olivia is a famous woman bmx biker she will be grateful her stunt biking career started so young!

Oh darn it! It just all happened so quickly! Why am I having flashbacks to the bike boy on "While you Were Sleeping"? You guys are going to love that someday.

That is so sad and funny at the same time. It did bring laugh tears to my eyes. I am glad she is ok. At first it looked like she ran into the tree. I am glad the grass was there to pad the fall:)
