College Football Hall of Fame

The College Football Hall of Fame is in downtown South Bend. I took the boys on a driving tour around the city, and we ended up there Sunday evening. Having not anticipated going to the Hall of Fame, we didn't bring a football, so the boys had to improvise. We found this little green ball there. Wait, you think you've seen that ball somewhere before? Here's a closer look.
There was a group of kids (a Big Brother group of some kind?) already playing there. When they needed a couple extra players, we were fortuitously in possession of a couple extra players. A couple extra players that have been missing the glory days of playing intramural football together.
And a couple of little cheerleaders doing what they call "team watch."
The most important element of "teamwatch" is placing all four extremities on the ground. Having your head also on the ground is just extra enthusiasm.

Em! It's good to see two of your bros again. It has been ages! I wouldn't have even recognized them. I think they were like five last time I saw them. And what good uncles to come visit their neices. I'm impressed. And dying for some of that pizza....and maybe one of those hot dogs, too.

Hilarious. At first I thought your two girls were in some kind of football positions. I love teamwatch!

I dig the big t-shirt/jammies mimi is sportin. its my favorite form of pj's for avery. what a fab post to see dave and rob, i have so many memories of rob beating us up, and dave sleeping outside all summer for refusing to clean his room. I think the only reason i'm surviving at being the mom of 3 boys (and one tom-boy) is all the boyish stuff i learned from watchin' those boys beat on each other. now i have a front row seat to my own person wwf. and i now it's all good.

Is Mimi set to blitz the quarterback?

Of course Mimi is going to blitz the quarterback. Of course she knows what it means to blitz. Of course I know what it means to blitz.

As the sole defender of the juggernaut offense that is Dave, Livi, and I, Mimi had to make a seriously difficult choice about what option to take away. She decided she was going to stunt a blitz on the QB but then fall back into coverage. I think she felt this gave her the best chance to win.
